On February 1, 2011, I authored the very first post on this blog. The whole idea of blogging was quite foreign to me and, if it wasn’t for my good friend Ben Stroup, it would never have happened.
My plan with Church Community Matters was to record my stream of consciousness as I interfaced with church leaders. My hope was that as I did that, there might be some helpful takeaways for you, the reader. Pretty straightforward!
Well, after two years, Church Community Matters has become a whole lot more than I expected. The site traffic has steadily increased as have the subscribers. I am always encouraged when someone I meet tells me that a particular post really spoke to or encouraged them.
One thing I have noticed is that most of these conversations happen with church leaders we serve at Church Community Builder. That makes sense at first glance because those are the leaders I hang out with the most. However, several leaders have shared that they were readers before they were church partners with us. The truth is, my musings on this blog are almost always tightly connected to what we think, believe and do at Church Community Builder. Apparently that is intriguing enough to some people that is prompts them to take a look at the company I work for. What an honor it is that some of them decide to let us serve their ministry.
This latter truth leads to the news I share with you today. Church Community Matters is making a transition. Because the content is indeed so tightly connected to the DNA of Church Community Builder, we have decided to merge the blog into the new company website. That site should be launching any day now and I am pumped! It represents our heart and our calling better than anything we have done before. And, because our heart is to guide church leaders to a better “how”, it only makes sense that this blog become an integral component.
At the end of the day, this has always been about trying to provide insight which helps church leaders be more effective. That is also the exact reason Church Community Builder exists. We are so much more than a software company! We have a lot of amazing people who have a tremendous heart for the local church and experience in church leadership. I want you to benefit from that expertise on a much larger scale.
So, going forward, you are going to continue to see posts from me but you will also begin to see posts from other members of our team along with more frequent posts from thought leaders like Jim Tomberlin, Brad Leeper, Chris Mavity, Bryan Miles and more. My hope is that the value of this blog will go up exponentially and you will consider it to be one of your “go-to” resources for knowledge and creative thinking on the local church.
I have been so blessed to speak into your world for the last two years but now is the time to share this platform and take it to a whole new level.
It’s gonna be a blast!
As we make this transition, I would love to know…..what topics have been most interesting to you?
